Is Pyle a good subwoofer brand?

Posted on 09/06/2022 by Drake Andrew

Is Pyle a good subwoofer brand?

I couldn’t be happier with the Pyle Subwoofer and I would recommend it for anybody that wants low to upper-moderate subwoofer sound. It probably won’t satisfy those looking to rattle surrounding cars, but for anybody else, it is a great buy.

What is a former in a subwoofer?

The former gives the voice coil its form and its shape and keeps it in place. The coil is copper or aluminum wire tightly wound around the former and is the element that creates an alternating field within the motor. Glue is used to keep the winding on the former.

Are Pyle power subs any good?

These are the best sub-woofers I have ever owned and operated ever. I am very pleased with them. 10/10 I would buy them again, and assuredly will if I can find a place to fit some in my car. 5.0 out of 5 stars Greatly exceeds expectations!

Is it worth repairing a subwoofer?

A: The short answer to your question is no, the repair is likely not worth it. The price/performance ratio of subwoofers has improved considerably in the last decade, so finding a subwoofer that matches or beats the AS 20’s specifications—8″ driver, 60 watts RMS, 33 Hz to 140 Hz frequency response—is not too tough.

How long does a subwoofer last?

The lifespan of a subwoofer can range from around 4-14 years. If it’s properly maintained and not abused, the average person should be able to get 10+ years out of their subwoofer.

How do I know if my sub is SVC or DVC?

Most SVC sub-woofers have a 4 Ohm impedance. A dual voice coil (DVC) sub-woofer has two separate coils of insulated copper wire wound on top of each other on the former and has two positive (+) and two negative (- ) terminals; one pair for each coil.

What causes a subwoofer to stop working?

The most common cause of speaker failure is short-circuiting. A short circuit in the wires providing the signal will prevent the signal from ever reaching the subwoofer. A short circuit at the terminals on the subwoofer will also prevent electrical current and signal from reaching the subwoofer.

What happens when your subwoofer stops working?

If the subwoofer still doesn’t power on, try plugging it into a different outlet that you know works properly. As with the speaker wires, inspect the subwoofer’s power cable for any damage or defects. Some subwoofers are equipped with a fuse, which may or may not require removal of a back plate.

Do blown subs still play?

While a blown subwoofer might stream distorted, crackling audio, it will not continue to work in the capacity at which it was designed to. In most cases, a blown subwoofer will eventually stop working entirely. If your subwoofer is blown, you can opt to repair it or purchase a new one.
