Electrostatic flocking is a textile technology that employs a Coulombic driving force to launch short fibers from a charging source towards an adhesive-covered substrate, resulting in a dense array of aligned fibers perpendicular to the substrate.
What is a flocking applicator?
Flocked applicators are sometimes referred to as ‘lip gloss applicators’ or ‘doesfoot applictors’ but are also used for applying concealers, eyeliners, cream eyeshadows, spot correctors, cuticle creams and many other cream or liquid products.

Is flocking hard wearing?
Very durable, flock is hard wearing and the finish is heat resistant up to 120ᵒ. Will my flock fade? Like any textile subjected to long periods of sunshine flock will fade, but this can be prevented by using a sunscreen or parking out of the sun.
What material is used for flocking?
Flock can be made from natural or synthetic materials such as cotton, rayon, nylon and polyester. There are two types of flock – milled and cut. Milled flock is produced from cotton or synthetic textile waste material. Because of the manufacturing process, milled flock is not uniform in length.
Can I use wood glue for flocking?
After identifying the grain direction, seal the surface to be flocked by rubbing white wood glue into the pores with your finger. You don’t need to go crazy with the glue; just be sure to clog all of the end grain. Wipe off any standing puddles and set it aside to dry for a few hours.
